New Intersection Locate Request Information
In June 2007 the North Carolina One-Call Center changed from Ocars to a Newtin based ticket system.
The Ocars system had an intersection database which is no longer being used within the Newtin System.
The Newtin system uses polygon database information.
With no intersection database, this affected the way we take an intersection locate request.
Below is an example of an intersection locate request and how it is taken with the Newtin system.
‘Locate the entire intersection’
This will only cover within the four corners of the intersection (area shown in RED).

Any distance requested to go down one or both roads will need to be done on separate tickets (one street per ticket).
This is to cover any facilities that may have lines on one road but not the other road.
1st ticket: St field: Brown St
X-st field: John St
Location: Locate the entire intersection and from the intersection down Brown St for 500ft in both directions. |
